Covington wants an opponent that can launch him back into title contention if he wins. According to Colby, Ian Garry ain’t that guy.

Colby Covington intends to fight at UFC 303 in June. He just isn’t interested in fighting Ian Machado Garry there.

Covington and Garry have been squawking back and forth for months now, to the point where we weren’t sure we wanted to experience the antics we’d undoubtedly have to witness if their fight got booked. But Covington slowly but surely stopping chirping back at Garry, and now there’s silence as Ian calls for Colby to sign a contract for UFC 303.

In a recent appearance on the Hodge Twins Podcast, Covington outlined his summer plans.

“I’m gonna fight this summer for sure, someone’s gonna get fought,” Covington said. “So yeah, they’re trying to figure out who’s the biggest name and the best business that we can do for the UFC. International Fight Week is like their big event in the summer, the UFC does a big festival all week and it’s capped off by this big pay-per-view on Saturday.”

“So I think that’s when they’re planning for me, International Fight Week. Just trying to figure out who who’s gonna be the guy.”

“I got unfinished business with my last fight, Leon Edwards, the guy that has the title right now,” he added. “I broke my foot in the first five seconds of that fight. I threw a kick, it broke in 3 different places. So that wasn’t me that night. I’m gonna probably have to fight someone else to get back to him. So whoever.”

“Chaos” no-sold “The Future” as a potential opponent.

“There’s this kid that’s been calling me out,” Covington said. “This kid, Ian Garry, he’s a nobody. I gave him some stipulations and said, ‘Hey man, if you wanna fight me, you have to show me you’re serious about business.’ Because when I do business, I’m serious about it. I show up to every fight. I’ve never pulled out of one fight. I’ve been injured. I’ve been sick. But I always show up and do my business because I love the UFC as the greatest organization on world. So he has to show me he’s serious.”

Garry pulled out of his UFC 296 fight against Vicente Luque with a bad case of pneumonia. But as far as Covington is concerned, he chickened out moments before the press conference to avoid Colby’s fierce burns.

“He was supposed to be on my last event in the press conference. He pulls out the day of the press conference because he knew I was gonna be on stage, and we’re gonna have some beef. So that shows me that he’s not serious.”

Is Covington serious about competing at UFC 303? If he is, he may have to accept Garry as the only available welterweight that could get him back into title contention.

Michael Chandler ‘plotting’ with Machine Gun Kelly ahead of his UFC 303 fight with Conor McGregor

Michael Chandler is doing some “plotting” with Machine Gun Kelly ahead of his highly anticipated clash with Conor McGregor.

On Saturday, June 29, the Irish megastar will return to the Octagon for the first time in nearly three years when he headlines UFC 303 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. With their scrap just a few weeks away, ‘Iron’ appears to be playing some mind games with McGregor after posting a picture with Grammy Award-nominated artist Machine Gun Kelly.

McGregor and MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, nearly threw hands during a brief interaction at the MTV Music Awards in 2021. To this day, nobody knows what caused the near-scuffle, but rumors immediately began flying that the animosity was the result of McGregor allegedly sending a direct message to Kelly’s girlfriend, actress Megan Fox.

However, representatives for McGregor have denied that narrative.

Recently, Chandler posted a picture with Kelly in what felt like a pretty clear dig at McGregor.

“63 days…. Plotting with ?@machinegunkelly,” Chandler wrote on X.

After Kelly opted not to comment on his interaction with McGregor, the Irishman told Entertainment Tonight”

“Absolutely nothing happened. I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy. Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean? I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox.”

McGregor reignited his rivalry with MGK after the incident, commenting on a video of Kelly riding a skateboard on social media. “Watch out guys we got a badass over here,” McGregor wrote in a since-deleted post.

Conor McGregor isn’t the only UFC fighter Machine Gun Kelly has had a bad experience with

It’s certainly not the first time that Machine Gun Kelly has had a run-in with a former MMA world champion. While attending a Power Slap event during Super Bowl weekend, Sean Strickland took issue with Kelly’s attire, telling him to “dress like a f*cking man” and likening him to a vampire.

“I don’t know who the f*ck that guy is,” Strickland tells the cameraman before yelling, “I’m easy to find, vampire man.”

Strickland offered some additional insight into the incident on his YouTube channel.

“I met some good people. Cowboy [Cerrone] was there. I met a vampire, apparently [the] guy dating Megan Fox,” Strickland said of meeting MGK. “You had some Transformers with a broken down car. I don’t know what happened to Megan Fox, but something happened to Megan Fox.

“I don’t know who did it, but I wanna find that man. I wanna have a conversation with him ’cause me and you, dude, we’re not cool. I meet this vampire-like, ‘Dude, you wake up every day and you dress like a vampire.’ I don’t know if he does or doesn’t. Maybe just a wardrobe. But dude, you dress like a vampire man. You look like the goth kid on South Park. And you go out in the world like this, like this only happens because you are in an insulated bubble” (h/t LoudWire).

‘My Style, It’s Worst Style For This Guy Dustin’

Dustin Poirier may be a beast on the feet, but Islam Makhachev is a beast on the ground, and that’s where he plans on taking their UFC 302 fight.

Islam Makhachev is looking forward to an easy fight against his UFC 302 opponent Dustin Poirier.

The lightweight champion has a lot of respect for “Diamond,” but at the same time he believes he’s stylistic poison for Poirier. His ground game is just too strong, and that will carry him through their June 1st showdown in Newark, New Jersey.

“Dustin, he is a warrior, legend, he have more than anybody, experience in this sport,” Makhachev told TMZ Sports in a new interview. “His problem is his style. That’s the one problem this guy has. His weak point is wrestling and grappling. And I have the key for the easy fight, and if I follow the plan, I can beat him easy.”

“My style and Khabib’s style, it’s worst style for this guy, Dustin. People that can take him down, hold him there, always give him problems.”

Islam gave Poirier his props for stepping up and fighting him, considering there was no one else ready after the lightweight contender eliminator round we witnessed at UFC 300.

“Dustin is a good opponent because Oliveira, Arman [Tsarukyan], I already beat these guys already,” he said. “My dream fight for this division is Gaethje, but he lose already. Right now in this division, we just have Dustin because Arman said no, Gaethje lose, Oliveira lose. We don’t have someone.”

“Honestly, my dream fight is for the second belt at 170,” Makhachev added. “I don’t know who is gonna be there. Now we have champion Leon Edwards. About BMF, I don’t need this belt. I don’t know what is this belt, for what? And I’m not under-estimating Poirier because this guy’s a legend, he have better than everybody striking, in my division, in this sport. I prepare myself for this tough fight.”

His message to Poirier for UFC 302?

“Dustin: be ready and wrestle a lot,” he said before joking, “I defend my neck, I’m ready for your guillotine. It’s not happening in our fight, but I will be ready.”

Video: Garcia Striking Tips Open Colby’s Third Eye

‘King Ryan’ is sharing some of his striking tactics with Colby Covington, who’ll need all the help with his stand-up he can get if he wants to stay at the top of the welterweight division.

Colby Covington is getting some striking tips from Ryan Garcia, which he might need if he ends up agreeing to fight Ian Machado Garry at UFC 303.

Ryan Garcia is coming off a impressive majority decision win over Devin Haney that saw him knock Haney down three times. Even more wild than his in-ring performance was the show he put on leading up to the fight. He trolled the world through endless social media posts that he was in the midst of a mental meltdown, to the point where many were conflicted about even watching the fight.

That didn’t stop Garcia from raking in a reported $50 million on the fight — $12 mil of that via bets he made on himself to win. He won’t be able to help Colby Covington hit those heights paycheck-wise, but he did attempt to shore up the wrestling-heavy game of “Chaos” with some tips on striking.

On the same night that he impressed former president Donald Trump with some hand speed drills, he showed Covington how he picked his shots to get around his opponents’ defenses.

“It’s either head or [body], which one do you want?” Garcia said, throwing punches at Covington. “Put your hands up. Now it’s [your temple] if your head is covered.”

Of course, being told to punch your opponent where he’s not defending is one thing, pulling that off in a fight is another. “King Ryan” can do it, but Colby Covington hasn’t proven to have the accuracy or pop to do much more than pad his stats with strikes. That may be why he’s been completely ignoring the latest round of callouts from Ian Garry.

Garry claims the UFC has sent out contracts for a UFC 303 fight, but Covington is turning it down over an injured foot. Is it a ploy to try and get the UFC to sweeten the pot if they want him fighting down? Or is he legitimately ducking “The Future?” Let us know what you think in the comments below.

BKFC hosted their fourth annual ‘KnuckleMania’ event, last night this time in the Peacock theatre in Los Angeles. While the undercard had brawling talent such as Jeremiah Riggs and David Diaz, it was the three top bouts that held the most appeal the wider combat sports audience.

The first of which was between two UFC heavyweight vets, Todd Duffee and Ben Rothwell. The fight would only last one round with Rothwell dropping Duffee multiple times before the referee waved off the fight.

Mike Perry BKFC IV

The co-main event came between Lorenzo Hunt and current BKFC heavyweight champion Mick Terrell. Hunt was aiming to win a BKFC title in a third division after winning both the light-heavyweight and cruiserweight belts.

After some early exchanges, Newcastle’s Terrell sent Hunt crashing to the floor after a well-placed uppercut. As Hunt attempted to break his fall, he would suffer a gruesome arm injury that forced the fight to be stopped and Terrell remains champion

Mike Perry nets $600,000 disclosed pay after BKFC Knucklemania IV win

The main event saw Mike Perry take on former BKFC champion and UFC vet, Thiago Alves. Perry would make quick work of Alves, dropping him with a left hook that left that left him on wobbly legs and unfit to continue. Perry would be awarded a knockout victory after just a minute’s work.

Mike Perry BKFC IV 2
